W latach 1963-1970 studiował na Wydziale Malarstwa i Wydziale Rzeźby warszawskiej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych. Byt twórcą niezwykle płodnym, zostawił po sobie ok. 3,5 tysiąca obrazów i ponad 10 tysięcy rysunków. Swoje prace zazwyczaj łączył w cykle. Treść w tej twórczości jest niezwykle istotna, dlatego przybliżenie ikonografii tych prac wydaje się niezbędne. Dwurnik przez całe życie uprawiał, by użyć stów Robina Dutta, "artystyczny reportaż".
