W epoce renesansu popularnym sposobem uhonorowania sławnej (a nawet mniej znamienitej) postaci stało się wybicie medalu z jej podobizną. Nie jest łatwo wybrać sposób prezentacji kolejnych poglądów antropologicznych na przestrzeni wieków. Autor zdecydował się na przedstawienie wybranych filozofów/teologów (lub kierunków filozoficznych/teologicznych), którzy jego zdaniem odegrali znaczącą rolę w kształtowaniu poglądów na osobę ludzką.
