The story happened in the winter of 2016. A Chinese student, Wang Xi, who does her PhD studies of international relations in Warsaw has a romantic relation with a man whom she shouldn’t love. Later, as if arranged by destiny, a diplomat of the educational department in the Chinese Embassy made a mistake about Wang Xi’s affair, which caused the attention from intelligence services in Poland. The heroine is gradually involved into political disturbance of Poland, with involvement of opposition party and even politicians from other countries. Luckily thanks to her strong will and wisdom, she had felt God’s blessing, which was occasionally, detected by the intelligence services with the use of a quantum mechanism. As time went on, she walked out of the storm, and people involved began to take care of her and help her. What has happened has become a valuable experience to her.
The story shows the life of Chinese communities in Warsaw. It is a combination of elements of a spy novel, psychology test, myths, political conflicts and heart breaking love story.
W poszukiwaniu drogi jest serią powieści opowiadających o Chińczykach, którzy przyjeżdżają do Polski w pogoni za marzeniami o wielkiej karierze w świecie biznesu. Świat ten jednak nie dla wszystkich okazuje się być bezpieczną przystanią – dla niektórych na zawsze pozostaje złudnym i nigdy niespełnionym marzeniem. Są jednak i tacy, którzy poznawszy jego dobrodziejstwa, odważnie podążają obraną przez siebie drogą. Niniejsza powieść ukazuje losy jednego z tych szczęśliwców, którego życie nie rozpieszczało, jednak pozwoliło odkryć piękno otaczającego świata i drogę, która zaprowadziła go do upragnionego celu. Autorka wprowadza czytelnika do bezkompromisowego i brutalnego świata biznesu za pomocą retrospekcji z życia głównego bohatera. Akcja powieści rozpoczyna się w momencie, gdy – już jako szef świetnie prosperującej firmy – opowiada młodej pracownicy – Xiao Yao – historię swojego życia, począwszy od trudnego dzieciństwa poprzez pełne przygód czasy studenckie, aż do kresu swojej wędrówki – osiedlenia się w Polsce i rozpoczęcia działalności gospodarczej.
“Road Seeking” is one of a series of novels relating how the Chinese entrepreneurs in Poland seek roads to their dreams, and start business in Poland. This book is a narration offered to Xiao Yao by her Boss Dong Er, head of GD business and service company, who unfolds his turbulent life story starting from a very difficult childhood and stretching to the time spent in Poland to study. After working for a few years in China, he returns to Poland, with the intention to study for a PHD, but sets up “Nine ways” Company instead. For a number of personal and strategic reasons, the company has big problems. Then, he makes and choses to study Polish law, and sets up a GD business and service company.
A Chinese girl, Ling Xuan, comes to the University of Warsaw to study international relations since the boy whom she loves would like to study there. However, he falls in love with another one: a pretty girl who is far better-off. At this moment, a young Japanese makes his appearance in Ling Xuan’s life. They fall in love and the feeling flourishes until the day of an international students’ party when the Japanese makes some off-hand remark against China, a remark which Ling Xuan couldn’t forgive… A colleague, Zhou Sheng, has once warned her not to mixed love with politics. Ling Xuan intends to get reconciled with her Japanese boyfriend, but only to be told that he has an affair with another girl. She also hears that her former rival has engaged in a peculiar relationship with a rich old man. There is only one person left to warm Ling Xuan’s heart: a girl from South Korea, Sol. Before graduation, Zhou Sheng opens his heart to Ling Xuan, only to be refused, whereupon Ling Xuan leaves Warsaw. When she comes back to China, Ling Xuan realizes she has always loved Zhou Sheng, and decides to wait for him until he comes back from Europe.
The book offers a number of very interesting insights about Chinese overseas students and their life in Warsaw, multi-cultural environment among international students, current world affairs, and how Warsaw is seen and interpreted in the eyes of a Chinese student.
