Bił mocno i często i szybko zabił trzech mężczyzn. Czwartego zabił ten drugi. Ten człowiek miał młodzieńczy wygląd i nosi jedwabną kamizelkę bez rękawów. Był szanowanym człowiekiem, mimo że walka bardzo go wyczerpała. Thorsteinn zapytał: "Jak nazywa się człowiek, któremu przyszedłem z pomocą?". "Nazywam się Styrbjorn i jestem człowiekiem króla Magnusa. Znalazłem się w poważnych trudnościach zanim mi pomogłeś. Moi towarzysze rozbiegli się po lesie. Ty bardzo mi pomogłeś i nie wiem, jak mógłbym ci się zrewanżować..."

On został pewien czas, dokonał wielu wielkich czynów i zyskał wielką cześć. Trzecią bitwę stoczył w Finlandii i wyszedł zwycięsko. Stamtąd popłynął na wybrzeże Balagard do Zelandii i plądrował. Po przybyciu w te strony, dowiedział się o Thorkelu Wysokim z Anglii, że był liczącym się człowiekiem i szanowanym za dobre rady. Olaf sprzymierzył się z Thorkelem Wysokim, gdy razem byli na zachodzie...
