Rocznik Sztuka Europy Wschodniej, założony w 2013 roku przez Polski Instytut Studiów nad Sztuką Świata w Warszawie, jest międzynarodowym pismem naukowym, poświęconym sztuce i kulturze artystycznej Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej i Wschodniej, zwłaszcza od XVIII wieku do współczesności. Publikowane są w nim materiały z konferencji i studia problemowe, dotyczące kluczowych zagadnień sztuki regionu i jego związków z innymi kręgami kulturowymi. Zawarte w IX tomie Edukacja artystyczna i krytyka artystyczna w Europie Środkowej i Wschodniej w XX i XXI wieku teksty poświęcone zostały edukacji artystycznej od lat dwudziestych XX wieku do współczesności w uczelniach Wilna, Kowna, Torunia, Rygi oraz dla porównania Florencji, a także ocenie artystycznych zjawisk w historii i krytyce sztuki. В нем публикуются материалы конференций, а также результаты научных исследований, касающихся проблем искусства региона и его связей с другими культурными кругами. The yearbook The Art of Eastern Europe, established in 2013 by the Polish Institute of World Art Studies in Warsaw, is an international scientific journal dedicated to the art and artistic culture of Central-Eastern and Eastern Europe, primarily from the XVIII century to the present. It publishes materials from conferences as well as topical studies dedicated to important issues of art of the region and its relationships with other cultural circles. The texts contained in IX volume entitled Art Education and Art Criticism in Central and Eastern Europe in the 20th and 21st centuries are devoted to art education from the 1920s to the present day in educational institutions in Wilno / Vilnius, Kaunas, Toruń and Riga, as well as in Florence, for comparison, together with accounts of historical developments in art history and criticism.
East Asian Theatres: Traditions Inspirations European / Polish Contexts conference was organized on October 20-22, 2015, by the Polish Institute of Art Studies at the MANGGHA Museum of Japanese Art and Technology in Krakow.This publication, in accordance with the title and programme of the conference, has been divided into three parts: Traditions, Inspirations and European / Polish Contexts. The first includes studies of selected stage genres, belonging to the East Asian theatre traditions, such as the Chinese xiqu theatre and shadow theatre, the Korean p'ansori theatre, the Japanese n theatre, kabuki and bunraku. The second discusses contemporary forms of East Asian theatres, created under the influence of artistic concepts of Western theatre, which began at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The last part is devoted to artistic relationships between the European, including Polish, theatrical traditions and the theatres of East Asia. An important part of this was the issue of the reception of East Asian theatres in Europe and Poland, as well as the reception of Polish contemporary stage art, especially in Japan.The publication, in the conception of its creators and editors, was to be dedicated to Professor Zbigniew Osiński, an outstanding researcher of avant-garde theatre and Polish theatre associations with Asia, an Honorary Member of the Institute, who died suddenly on 1 January 2018. A slight delay in the preparation of this volume for publication enabled the memory of Zbigniew Osiński to be commemorated.
